Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Beat2Cut is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what stays on your device for free local tools, what we handle for signed-in studios and paid subscriptions, and how Voiceover uses third-party AI speech providers.
Your Media Files Stay on Your Device
Beat2Cut processes audio and video source files entirely in your browser for beat detection, scene detection, and video editing. Source media (for example MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V) is never uploaded to our servers for those tools, never copied to cloud storage for detection or export encoding, and never used for model training. We have no access to your raw project media at any point during local processing.
Local Processing
Beat detection, scene detection, and browser video editing run on your device using Web Audio API, Canvas API, WebCodecs, MP4Box.js, and, when needed, FFmpeg.wasm in the browser. Detection results, exported MP4/ZIP/FCPXML files, and intermediate frames for those tools stay on your machine unless you deliberately download or share them yourself.
AI Voiceover (Script and Generated Audio)
AI Voiceover is different from local media tools. When you use Voiceover, the narration script text you submit, generation settings (such as language and voice selection), job status, and the resulting narration audio are processed on our cloud infrastructure and by third-party AI speech providers (Fish Audio and MiniMax) so we can generate speech and return downloadable audio. Generated audio and related project metadata may be stored with your account so you can reopen projects and download results. Local sentence retakes and recomposed timelines that exist only in your browser session are not synced across devices unless you export them. We do not use your scripts or generated audio to train our own speech models.
Account Data (When You Sign In)
Audio beat detection works without an account. Video Studio, the browser video editor, AI Voiceover, and paid plan management require sign-in. When you create an account or sign in, we record: email address, display name, hashed password (email login) or Google account identifier (Google sign-in), session tokens, IP address, user agent, and email verification status. We also store product usage needed to operate the service—such as credit balances, subscription status, Voiceover projects, generation history metadata, and support or feedback messages you send us.
Payments and Subscriptions
Paid plans (Beat2Cut Pro) are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. When you subscribe, Creem handles checkout, tax collection and remittance where applicable, invoices, refunds under its policies, and payment method storage. We receive payment and subscription status from Creem (for example active, canceled, or past due) so we can grant or revoke Pro access and apply the correct credit allowance. We do not store full card numbers on Beat2Cut servers. Creem’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment relationship.
Service Providers
We use third-party processors only as needed to run Beat2Cut: authentication and session infrastructure; email delivery for verification, security, and product notices; bot verification on login and signup; Google as an OAuth provider if you choose Sign in with Google; cloud hosting, database, object storage, and job queues for account data, Voiceover jobs, and generated audio; third-party AI speech providers—including Fish Audio and MiniMax—that receive the text and settings required to synthesize narration; Creem for payments and subscriptions; and privacy-focused analytics. Each provider receives only the data required for its function and is bound by its own policies and our processing instructions.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookie-less analytics tool, to collect anonymous and aggregated usage statistics (page views, referrer, browser, country). Umami does not use personal identifiers and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
Embedded Third-Party Content
Some pages embed YouTube tutorial videos, which load from YouTube/Google servers when you play them. YouTube’s privacy policy applies to those embeds. Payment checkout may redirect you to Creem’s hosted pages. Beyond the providers listed in this policy, we do not sell your personal data.
Your Data Rights
You can review your account email and connected login method in account settings, manage or cancel a paid subscription through the billing portal after purchase, request deletion of your account and associated service data, export data we hold about your account where applicable, and unsubscribe from product or marketing emails. To exercise these rights, email support@beat2cut.com. Some billing records may be retained as required for tax, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
